The Egyptian-Japanese Business Council held on March 2^nd; Where the activities of the seminar began with intensive meetings of JETRO Chairman and CEO with the Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, Mr. Hossam Haiba, Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and Mr. Yahya Al-Wathiq Billah, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Head of the Commercial Representation Authority, representing Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry.

The bilateral meetings concluded with a meeting with Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, with the participation of Ambassador Hiroshi Oka, Ambassador of Japan to Egypt, and Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby, Chairman of the  Egypt-Japan Business Council.

After the opening session, the activities witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce FEDCOC headed by Eng. Ibrahim El-Araby chairman of FEDCOC, and the Japan External Trade Organization JETRO, which aims to provide all the facilities cooperation in promotion of Egyptian-Japanese trade and investments and business.

The activities of the seminar also witnessed an explanation of the investment environment and incentives presented by Mr. Hossam Heiba, Chairman of GAFI, and an explanation of investment opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone presented by Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of SCZone.

The Japanese Investment in Egypt session delivered by Mr. Saito, Chairman of Japan Business Association in Egypt and Mr. Fukuyama, Managing Director of JETRO Cairo office, gave a detailed presentation on Japanese investments in Egypt and the activities in cooperation with the Egypt-Japan Business Council to promote more Japanese investments to Egypt.

The second day of the seminar witnessed field visits to major national projects to find out the latest positive developments in Egypt,

Field visits have been organized to the Grand Egyptian Museum GEM to inspect the final stages of its implementation and the surrounding area and the Japanese restoration laboratories for Egyptian antiquities in cooperation with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency JICA, where Japan is the largest supporter of this global project, and field visits included and site visits and inspection to the new projects at the new administrative capital projects to explore all investment opportunities available to the Japanese side.
